CMA Addresses Communication Issues Between Health Plans and Physicians
Rochester, NY – March 15, 2011 -- Both health plans and medical professionals realize the need for the redesign of health care, however there is often difficulty in achieving a shared vision.
In the March issue of Annals of Internal Medicine, FMA Chief Medical Officer Howard Beckman, MD discusses the inability of health care administrators to effectively translate the language of business to and from the language of medicine.
Dr. Beckman provides examples from successful projects and offers eight recommendations for bridging this communications divide as a means to improve care and reduce cost.
